The reach of an effective quality assurance program originates well before receipt of product. Timberline Fasteners QA process is integrated from the beginning at joint and component design, through standards based specification and performance requirements for the manufacturer, ensuring the product meets customer expectation prior to production. The process continues through first-article approval and customer PPAP requirements, while maintaining traceability and certification documentation management.
The manufacture vetting process includes qualification based on production technology, historical performance, category expertise and capacity for changes in demand. Timberline has developed a global supply network built around an extensive vendor qualification process, continuing throughout the supply relationship with regular audits and reviews.
The primary standards to which Timberline tests in house are around fit, form, function. Rotational and dimensional tests, Rockwell hardness testing, and certifications of conformance to customer print requirements or industry standards as well as Basic (Level 1 and Level 2) PPAP preparation.
